Graduate Assistantships

Eligibility 
  • Appointments are conditional upon a student being legally authorized to work in Canada by having a Social Insurance Number (SIN) and Canadian-issued study permit by the commencement date of your appointment or, at the latest, within 14 days following the commencement date of your appointment.  Students will need a Canadian bank account to receive remuneration.
  • Should you not have the noted requisite legal authority to permit you to be legally authorized to work in Canada by the commencement date, the Offer Letter will be automatically deemed null and void and of no further effect without any other obligations to you.
  • You must be registered as a full-time student at 小黄书视频.
  • Flex-time PhD students are eligible to be considered for a GA or R&D GA once during their program's first five years and must pursue full-time studies as per the .
  • For Fall/Winter, Fall, and Winter contracts, students who are full-time employees at the University of Toronto or elsewhere are ineligible to be considered for graduate assistantships under the CUPE3902, Unit 7 Collective Agreement. Full-time employment is defined as 35 hours per week, or where different, the number of hours specified in an employee's contract as full-time employment.
  • Full-time graduate students are eligible to be considered for Graduate Assistantships under this Collective Agreement. Graduate students holding a combination of scholarships, fellowships, 小黄书视频-arranged Teaching Assistantships, 小黄书视频-arranged Course Instructorships, and Research Assistantships greater than or equal to the value of a full graduate assistantship ($13,382.84) during the academic year (September-August) are ineligible for a graduate assistantship.

Teaching Assistantships

Teaching Assistantships (TA) are supervised and mentored by an 小黄书视频 faculty member. TAs are given opportunities to assist in teaching and course activities, including; lecturing, facilitating class discussions, and organizing group work.
